Uruguay tiene una gran diversidad de germoplasma local de maíz (Zea mays L.) en uso y conservado ex situ. La colección ex situ está constituida por diez tipos raciales de maíz en base a la caracterización fenotípica realizada en 1979. Dentro de la colección, la raza Blanco Dentado es de particular interés por su aporte forrajero.
El objetivo de este proyecto es determinar la diversidad y estructura genética de las accesiones de la raza Blanco Dentado mediante el uso de microsatélites. |

INTRODUCTION: Palmer Amaranth (Amaranthus palmeri) is a dicot weed in the Amaranthaceae family. In Uruguay this weed first evolved resistance to Group 9 (Legacy G) herbicides in 2022 and infests Corn (maize), and Soybean. Group 9 (Legacy G) herbicides are known as Inhibition of Enolpyruvyl Shikimate Phosphate Synthase (Inhibition of EPSP synthase). Research has shown that these particular biotypes are resistant to glyphosate and they may be cross-resistant to other Group 9 (Legacy G) herbicides.
